Legal Officer

A leading construction company in Colombo is inviting applications from suitably qualified and motivated individuals for the position of Legal Officer. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support a professional construction team, contributing to contract management, legal compliance, and dispute resolution within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Minimum requirements

1. Attorney-at-law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka.
2. Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience (preferably in construction, contracts, or corporate law).
3. In-depth knowledge of contract law, construction law, labour law, and regulatory compliance.
4. Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and research skills.
5. Ability to review agreements, claims, and legal documentation.
6. Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
7. Experience in handling dispute resolution and legal risk matters.
8. Male candidate preferred.

Key responsibilities

1. Draft, review, and negotiate construction-related agreements.
2. Provide legal support on contracts, tenders, and project documentation.
3. Assist in dispute resolution, claims management, and court coordination.
4. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
5. Maintain accurate legal records and advise management on legal risks.
