Mechanical Inspector

As part of its strategic expansion, we are seeking to appoint a high-performing technical sales engineer to drive growth within our heavy equipment and transport solutions portfolio. Specially the Deutz engines.

Key responsibilities

1. Inspect mechanical and electrical components at workshops
2. Verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments
3. Compare physical components with 2D mechanical drawings
4. Identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with technical standards
5. Update inspection records and provide technical feedback
6. Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and procurement teams to resolve issues
7. Conduct inspection of mechanical components and assemblies
8. Verify dimensions and specifications against engineering drawings
9. Ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements
10. Report inspection findings and maintain records

Qualifications & experience

1. NVQ level 4 (minimum) / diploma / degree in mechanical engineering or related field
2. Minimum 6 months – 1 year relevant industry experience
3. Experience with railway components, heavy machinery, or industrial equipment preferred

Skills required

1. Strong knowledge of 2D mechanical drawings
2. Hands-on experience with vernier calipers, micrometers, etc.
3. Good attention to detail, communication, and coordination skills
4. Ability to work independently and in field environments
