Engineering manager

Anverally & Sons (Pvt) Ltd, a leading value-added tea exporter and manufacturer in Sri Lanka, is seeking a dynamic and result-oriented engineering manager to oversee engineering, maintenance, utilities, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives within its manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

1. Manage all engineering, maintenance, utilities, and technical operations across the factory.
2. Ensure maximum machine efficiency and reliability in tea bag packing and blending operations.
3. Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime.
4. Handle PLC, HMI, VFD, and industrial automation troubleshooting and programming.
5. Oversee compressor systems, HVAC, electrical distribution, and power control systems.
6. Lead engineering projects including planning, budgeting, installation, commissioning, and performance validation.
7. Drive process optimization, energy-saving, and cost-reduction initiatives.
8. Manage spare parts planning, maintenance records, and engineering documentation.
9. Support production teams to achieve operational and quality targets.
10. Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and food manufacturing requirements.
11. Develop and lead the engineering team while supporting automation and digitalization initiatives.
12. Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, OEMs, and service providers for technical support and project execution.

Candidate profile

1. BSc degree in electrical & electronic engineering from a recognized university.
2. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a managerial or senior engineering role.
3. Strong hands-on expertise in:
4. PLC & HMI programming and troubleshooting
5. VFDs and electrical control systems
6. Industrial automation
7. Compressor, chiller, and HVAC systems
8. Power distribution and electrical troubleshooting
9. Good knowledge of preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement.
10. Experience in project management, budgeting, and Microsoft Project.
11. Strong analytical, leadership, problem-solving, communication, and team management skills.
