Transport Officer

An officer with good experience is required to work in the transport department of a major group company located in Wattala.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee day-to-day operations of the vehicle fleet (10 & 6 wheel lorries), ensuring optimal performance and safety.
2. Plan, schedule, and monitor all preventive and corrective maintenance of the fleet.
3. Ensure compliance with all licensing, inspections, etc.
4. Coordinate with drivers, cross-function staff, and external service providers to minimize downtime.
5. Maintain accurate fleet records, logs, and reports (repairs, breakdowns, accidents).
6. Support procurement of vehicles, parts, tyres, and maintenance services.

Qualifications & experience

1. Minimum 2-5 years’ experience managing heavy vehicles.
2. Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, workshop operations, and technical issues.
3. Valid driving license, preferably heavy vehicle class.
4. Strong communication and leadership skills.
5. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
