Accountant – Maldives

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from a UGC-approved Sri Lankan university (4-year full-time degree preferred)
2. Part qualification in CA Sri Lanka / ACCA / CIMA is mandatory
3. Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
4. Prior experience at a reputed audit firm (e.g., EY, KPMG, Deloitte, or PwC) for at least 2–3 years is essential
5. Strong proficiency in financial reporting, bookkeeping, and accounting standards

Hands-on experience in

1. Preparation of full set of financial statements (external reporting)
2. Monthly management accounts
3. Income tax and indirect tax (VAT/GST) calculations
4. Handling and coordinating external audits
5. Practical exposure to import processes and shipment costing
6. Experience in trading or service-oriented businesses with large inventory management is an advantage
7. Prior work experience in the Maldives will be a distinct advantage
8. Strong command of English communication (written & spoken)
9. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
10. Proven capability to lead an accounting team and manage accounts payable/receivable effectively
11. Ability to join within a maximum of one month
