Accounts Assistant cum Cashier

Amal International School is seeking a competent and dedicated accounts assistant to join our finance division.

Key qualifications & requirements

1. Part qualification in CA, ACCA, or CIMA, or full qualification in AAT.
2. A degree in accounting or finance from a recognized university will be an added advantage.
3. Minimum 1 year of experience in a reputed audit firm or mercantile sector.
4. Hands-on experience in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Tally.
5. Knowledge of Sri Lanka accounting standards (SLFRS/LKAS).
6. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
7. Experience in procurement processes will be an added advantage.
8. High level of accuracy in data entry and financial records.
9. Quick learner with the ability to handle assigned tasks efficiently.
10. Language proficiency in English, Sinhala and Tamil will be an added advantage.

Key responsibilities

1. Processing payments through cash, card, cheque, or bank transfer.
2. Monitoring and following up on outstanding school fee arrears.
3. Maintaining and updating the school’s fixed asset register.
4. Handling end-to-end procurement processes including requesting quotations, issuing purchase orders, and preparing goods received notes (GRNs).
5. Performing banking-related activities and financial reconciliations.
