Electrical Engineer

A leading construction organization, engaged in MEP & interior projects, is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented individual with exceptional drive and motivation to join our team for the following position:

The electrical engineer will be responsible for the design, coordination, and execution of electrical systems related to MEP and interior fit-out projects. The role requires close collaboration with project teams to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery in compliance with local standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

1. Design, review, and implement electrical systems for construction and fit-out projects.
2. Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
3. Perform load calculations, cable sizing, and panel scheduling.
4. Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
5. Supervise site activities and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
6. Assist in project planning, progress monitoring, and cost control.
7. Support tendering, estimation, and technical evaluations.
8. Ensure compliance with Sri Lankan regulations and standards (e.g., CEB requirements).
9. Identify and resolve technical issues on-site efficiently.

Required qualifications & experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized university.
2. Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in MEP/building construction projects in Sri Lanka.
3. Associate membership or eligibility for membership of IESL (Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka) will be an added advantage.
4. Experience in site supervision and project coordination.
5. Good knowledge of local electrical standards, regulations, and practices.
6. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
