About the company

A diversified manufacturing group located in Western Province with its head office in Colombo is in search of a Chief Human Resources Officer to work as a strategic business partner providing continuous support to the leadership team by effectively delivering all HR services and adding value to overall business performance.

Key responsibilities

  1. Design and implement short, mid-term & long-term strategy for business specific HR initiatives in alignment to the overall business strategy.
  2. Efficient and effective delivery for overall HR responsibilities including performance management, training & development, employee relations, succession planning, talent initiatives and leadership development programs.
  3. Sustain availability of desired talent pool at all levels.
  4. Group pay administration at all levels.
  5. Ensure compliance to group HR policies and labour laws across subsidiary companies and plants. Review and recommend changes to company policies, procedures and practices as appropriate.
  6. Focus on rigor of performance management system and support the integration of its philosophy into strategic business plans in order to ensure its effectiveness for business connects.
  7. Deliver hands on work for rewards & compensation and proactively managing expectations of employees.
  8. Employee engagement and continuous improvement of the engagement scores.
  9. Partner with other business units to integrate existing workforce plans, staffing and hiring strategy.
  10. Assess organizational effectiveness as well as support and develop a variety of change management initiatives in driving excellence within the group.
  11. Work closely with the leadership team, deliver solutions to meet the business’ needs to drive and sustain change initiatives to improve performance.

Requirements

  1. Degree or MBA in HR or business administration from a recognized university.
  2. Minimum of 15 years of experience.
  3. Preferred candidates below 45 years of age.
  4. Work experience in a manufacturing background is a must.
  5. Strong personality while being approachable to all levels of employees.
  6. Good collaboration skills to effectively business partner unit CEOs and peers as well as external stakeholders.
