About the company
We are a leading manufacturer, exporter, importer & supplier of premium quality veterinary health products to the livestock industry of Sri Lanka and to the international market, and are looking for energetic, ambitious & self-motivated candidate to be a part of energetic Farmchemie team as, safety & compliance officer.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and monitor compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and Environmental regulations.
- Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits across all plant operations.
- Lead incident investigations and manage reporting, corrective actions, and safety performance tracking.
- Develop and deliver training programs to promote a safety-first culture.
- Support the implementation of ISO 45001 (OHSMS) and ISO 14001 (EMS) standards.
- Ensure proper management of waste disposal, effluent treatment, and environmental compliance.
Qualifications & experience
- Diploma or degree in occupational health & safety, environmental science, chemical engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or ISO 45001 lead auditor are highly desirable.
- 2–5 years of experience in industrial safety—preferably in the pharmaceutical, food, or chemical manufacturing sector.
- Proven experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of OHS laws, GMP/GxP, and emergency response procedures.
- Strong communication and training facilitation skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong report-writing and documentation abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office and EHS management systems.
- A proactive leader with the ability to influence safe work practices at all levels.
