Knitwear programmer

Key responsibilities

1. Developing knitwear designs (pullover, cardigan, waistcoat, trousers, cap) according to customer briefs.
2. Support the creation of tech packs for sampling.
3. Coordinate with the technical and sample team to ensure design feasibility.
4. Track sample development and follow up on progress.
5. Review samples and highlight design or construction issues.
6. Update designs based on feedback from the technical and production team.
7. Ensure that designs are compatible with the available yarns and machine capabilities.
8. Maintain accurate design files, tech packs, and revision records.
9. Support cross-functional communication with merchandising, technical, and production.

Requirements

1. 0-2 years of experience in garment or knitwear design.
2. Thorough comprehension of knitwear construction and garment structure.
3. Proficiency in design software (Stoll M1+ and HQPDS16).
4. Strong understanding of yarn types and knitting structures.
5. Keen attention to detail in technical documentation.
6. Capacity to rapidly learn and adjust to a factory setting.
7. Strong coordination and communication skills.
8. Willingness to collaborate closely with production teams and embrace feedback.
