Accountant – Colombo

We are a leading group of engaged in apparel industry seeking a highly competent and experienced accountant to oversee and strengthen our financial management across multiple business units.

Key responsibilities

1. Manage and oversee the accounting functions of all group companies.
2. Prepare financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards and group policies.
3. Monitor project costing, production costs, and profitability across divisions.
4. Ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost control within manufacturing and apparel operations.
5. Oversee job costing, budgeting, and financial tracking.
6. Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
7. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, handling tax matters and statutory requirements.
8. Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
9. Strengthen internal controls and financial systems across the group.
10. Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
11. Manage and oversee the accounting functions of all group companies.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
2. Part qualified in CA Sri Lanka / ACCA / CIMA.
3. Minimum 5-7 years’ experience, preferably in manufacturing, apparel sectors.
4. Strong knowledge of financial reporting including budgeting.
5. Sound knowledge and experience handling tax matters.
6. Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Quick book will be an advantage.
7. Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
