Assistant Manager – Procurement

Role overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced assistant manager – procurement to oversee procurement operations, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.

Key responsibilities

Sourcing & supplier management

  1. Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers
  2. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost efficiency
  3. Timely fulfillment in support of project needs
  4. Maintain and continuously improve the supplier database ensuring adequate options are in place to source

Procurement & purchase order management

  1. Oversee the preparation and issuance of purchase orders in compliance with company policies
  2. Monitor order progress and resolve any discrepancies or delays
  3. Ensure proper documentation and approval processes are followed

Shipping & logistics coordination

  1. Manage import procedures with allied authorities (BOI, customs etc.), shipping documentation, freight forwarders on a timely basis
  2. Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
  3. Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules

Stakeholder communication

  1. Maintain strong communication with suppliers and internal departments
  2. Provide updates on procurement status and address any operational issues

Process improvement & compliance

  1. Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and efficiency in line with industry best practices and standards
  2. Ensure compliance with company policies
  3. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and documentation

Qualifications & experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
  2. 5–10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain operations (preferably in a manufacturing/production or printing environment)
  3. Familiarity and the use of ERP or allied systems for procurement activities is a must
  4. Strong knowledge of sourcing, negotiation and supplier management
