Senior Imports Coordinators

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated professional to join our imports department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our import operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment with company goals. This position requires strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of international trade regulations.

Job role

1. Responsible for sourcing and procurement for import requirements.
2. Ensure samples and prices are prepared within agreed timelines and required qualities.
3. Coordinate order deliveries to ensure timelines are met.
4. Coordinate with suppliers and obtain prices for imported materials.
5. Attend to regulatory clearances on imports, liaising with authorities such as import control, Sri Lanka customs, etc.
6. Forward advance shipping documents to clearing agents and follow up for draft customs documents.
7. Arrange import duty payments for clearing agents.
8. Handle all foreign correspondence and possess fair knowledge of LCs, TTs, DP, DA terms, and the clearing process.
9. Arrange payments for foreign suppliers and maintain accurate records.
10. Track shipments while coordinating with freight forwarders & clearing agents.
11. Obtain insurance for imports from insurance companies.

Job requirement

1. A degree in supply chain management or a related field is a must.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar capacity is a must.
3. System-driven experience will be an added advantage.
4. Preferably a female candidate.
5. Knowledge of MS office package and e-mail is a must.
6. Good communication skills, both oral and written, in English and Sinhala.
7. Self-motivated and result-oriented personality.
