Safety Officer

Job description

We are seeking a responsible and motivated Safety Officer to oversee and implement health and safety practices across our construction projects. This role is ideal for candidates with 1–2 years of experience in construction safety management.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure implementation and compliance with company health & safety policies at all project sites.
2. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement corrective measures to minimize hazards.
3. Perform routine site safety inspections and report unsafe conditions with recommendations.
4. Organize and conduct safety training and toolbox talks for workers.
5. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses and submit detailed reports.
6. Maintain safety documentation including inspections, incidents, and employee records.
7. Monitor proper usage of PPE and ensure availability of required safety equipment.
8. Prepare and submit periodic safety reports (man-hours, incident summaries, OHS reports) to management and clients.

Requirements

1. Diploma or degree in occupational health & safety or relevant field.
2. 1–2 years of experience in a similar role (construction industry preferred).
3. Knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
4. Strong communication and reporting skills.
5. Ability to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
6. Proficiency in MS office.
7. Professional certifications in safety (NEBOSH/IOSH) will be an added advantage.
