Assistant Manager – Procurement

Uswatte Essential Foods (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a proactive, strategic, and results-driven Assistant Manager – Procurement to lead and manage procurement operations while ensuring the timely availability of raw materials, packaging, and other operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

1. Develop and oversee supplier sourcing strategies by identifying, evaluating, and building strong relationships with reliable vendors
2. Develop and manage end-to-end procurement processes including sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management
3. Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost efficiency and operational effectiveness
4. Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts, and payment terms to ensure value for money
5. Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging, and indirect items to support uninterrupted production
6. Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving and risk mitigation opportunities
7. Coordinate with production, finance, and supply chain teams to align procurement with business needs
8. Maintain accurate procurement records, reporting, and documentation
9. Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
10. Supervise and guide procurement team members to achieve departmental objectives

Key requirements & qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, procurement, business administration, or a related field
2. Professional qualification (e.g., CIPS) will be an added advantage
3. Minimum 4–6 years of experience in procurement, preferably in an FMCG or manufacturing environment
4. Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills
5. Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
6. Proficiency in MS office (especially Excel) and ERP systems
