Intern | associate software engineer – remote

At Codesec, as a software engineer, you will bridge the gap between idea and execution by building scalable, secure, and user-focused SaaS products and internal tools across web and mobile platforms.

You won’t just write code — you’ll engineer meaningful, real-world digital solutions that drive business value and elevate user experience.

What you’ll do

1. Build and scale custom web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Next.js, and Node.js.
2. Develop and maintain backend applications using PHP and Laravel, following clean architecture, security, and performance best practices.
3. Develop secure, high-performance REST APIs that integrate seamlessly with third-party services and internal platforms.
4. Design intuitive and responsive user interfaces with Tailwind CSS and Tailwind-based component libraries.
5. Architect and manage relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
6. Leverage platforms like Supabase, Strapi, and Firebase to accelerate development.
7. Deploy and manage applications using AWS, GCP, DigitalOcean, and Docker to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
8. Use AI-assisted development tools and workflows to support productivity, debugging, documentation, code quality, and faster problem-solving.

What you bring

1. Strong foundation in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and PHP.
2. Proven experience in frontend and backend development with React, Node.js, and Laravel.
3. Solid understanding of database design, performance tuning, and data security with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
4. Familiarity with building and consuming REST APIs, including Laravel-based APIs.
5. Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerized deployment.
6. Experience using Git, GitHub, and CI/CD tools in a collaborative development environment.
7. Ability to effectively use AI tools and AI-assisted development workflows such as Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar platforms while maintaining strong engineering judgment.
8. A product-focused mindset — you think about the user impact of every technical decision.
9. Ability to debug and improve complex systems while staying aligned with team goals.
