Tour Leader / Tour Guide

Do you love Sri Lanka and sharing it with others? We are currently recruiting freelance Tour Leaders in Sri Lanka, with training starting in June! As a Tour Leader with Intrepid you get the opportunity to share your country and culture with travellers from all over the world and create unforgettable moments they’ll treasure for a lifetime! You’ll be the face of Intrepid and provide exceptional customer service by hosting and leading tours. You’ll monitor the safety and well-being of your travellers, ultimately ensuring the overall successful operation of each trip.

To be considered you must have

1. All-island national tour guide license with full rights to work across Sri Lanka
2. Great availability during our peak seasons to lead our trips
3. Excellent communication skills in English and local languages, with the ability to communicate with people from varied cultures and backgrounds
4. Basic computer skills including email, word and excel

What you need to know

1. This is a freelance contract position
2. We are recruiting leaders in May with training commencing from June onwards.
3. With extended hours, lots of walking and activities, and engaging with travellers, it’s important that you are prepared both mentally and physically for the challenge!
4. You’ll need the ability to travel and spend time away from home, as our leaders often travel for extensive periods at a time and some tours can span up to four weeks.
5. Creating safe travel experiences is at the core to what we do, and this role may be subject to mandatory child safeguarding checks where required.
