Production Engineer (Shift)

We are a leading tyre manufacturing organization driven by operational excellence, efficiency, and continuous improvement. We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented individual to join our team as a Production Engineer.

Key responsibilities

1. Responsible for achieving key performance indicators (productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety and moral) and involving for applying problem solving techniques to eliminate/correct variances
2. Maintain the volume and quality of output and adjust tasks, timing, equipment set-up or inputs so that production specifications are met and resources are used efficiently
3. Support to prepare production reports so that performance problems can be identified and resolved
4. Supervise team members to ensure that all production tasks are performed as practiced and established by the organization maintaining high level of system adherence
5. Identify the production manpower requirement to ensure that all production tasks are functional smoothly
6. Guide, coach and develop team members and assist them to align with the work procedures and diagnose problems
7. Ensure the proper co-ordination with supportive departments (implementation of improvement ideas, maintenance activities etc…)
8. Ensure the adherence to all the meeting agendas and taking corrective actions when necessary
9. Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by the management

Qualifications

1. Degree in mechanical engineering/ polymer or HND/NDT with relevant field from a recognized university
2. Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in the relevant field (experience in tyre manufacturing environment would be an additional advantage)
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Sinhala languages
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
5. Sound knowledge in MS Office package and ERP
6. Residing within 30 km will be an additional advantage
