Job profile

Reporting to the head of research, the candidate would hold a fulltime engagement with accountability to produce designated research reports and support research undertakings with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

Fundamental analysis

1. Would engage in issuing valuation driven investment recommendations on designated counters of the CSE, by carrying out sectorial and company performance forecasting within identified macro-economic outlook.
2. Maintain an overall understanding of macro-economic condition of Sri Lanka and related impact on CSE counters.

Macro-economic analysis

1. Would engage in analysis and forecasting of macro-economic data of Sri Lanka factoring related global data, to maintain an in depth insight on the overall Sri Lanka’s macro-economic outlook in ascertaining timely impact in relation to CSE counters.

Technical analysis

1. As required undertake technical analysis, to advise in undertaking optimal trading positions.

Communications

1. Would need to communicate with clients and other related stakeholders in relation to investment recommendations and/or macro-economic forecasts.

Requirements

1. Solid educational background in finance, economics or business at bachelor’s level or equivalent professional qualifications.
2. Postgraduate qualification in related disciplines or CFA would be preferred.
3. Previous related experience in the financial services industry would be an added advantage.
4. Fluent report writing and presentation skills in English.
5. Need to be highly computer literate.
6. Exposure to statistical software and forecasting models would be beneficial.
7. Ability to work within limited timelines.
