Intern network & system administrator

Responsibilities

1. Assist in the installation, configuration and maintenance of network hardware, software and related infrastructure.
2. Support daily system administration tasks, including user account management, access control and system monitoring.
3. Help maintain servers, networks and security systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
4. Troubleshoot hardware, software and network related issues under supervision.
5. Monitor system performance and report any irregularities or potential risks.
6. Assist in implementing IT security policies, backups and disaster recovery procedures.
7. Provide technical support to internal users for IT related issues.
8. Maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes and troubleshooting procedures.
9. Support routine system updates, patches and upgrades.
10. Collaborate with the IT team on ongoing projects and improvements.

Qualifications

1. Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in IT, computer science, network engineering or a related field.
2. Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
3. Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows or Linux.
4. Knowledge of hardware servers and basic cybersecurity concepts is an added advantage.
5. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
6. Good communication and teamwork abilities.
