Quality Assurance Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback 
• Developing and implementing quality standards 
• Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met 
• Identify resource needs, effectively plan, define test strategy, provide quality assurance estimate, and provide test management and test reporting throughout the testing cycle 
• Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases 
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using testing tools 
• Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues 
• Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements 
• Reviewing codes, specifications, and processes 
• Works together with the software developer to enhance and improve programs 
• Track defect densities and open-defect counts and other quality assurance metrics 
• Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends and advancements 
• Be familiar with testing tools and methodologies 
• Find, record, track bugs, and perform thorough documentation

Requirements and Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Computer Science or an equivalent professional qualification 
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in the similar capacity 
• Experience working with Cloud- first environment will be an added advantage 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• High proficiency in computer technology and programming languages 
• ASQ certification will be an added advantage 
• Experience coding and using QA software tools and process 
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process 
• Extensive experience in software development and testing 
• Good team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Good oral and written communication skills 
• Excellent project management skills
