Mould & Tooling Design

GRI is a leading specialty tire producer in Sri Lanka- We have been supplying tires to more than 50 countries worldwide since 2002. GRI has sales offices in the United States, Germany, France, Netherlands, Spain, the Baltics, and Australia. We produce high-performance tires for Agriculture, Material Handling, and Construction vehicles.

We are looking for an experienced individual to fill the following vacancy immediately at our Factory located in Badalgama.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Make new tire and mold drawings with adherence to the new product design/development schedule.
• Responsible for approving design changes through mold & accessories modification.
• Make Engraving drawings.
• Make tooling drawings like Drum, BPR, Ply Cups, Spacer, Flange, and order.
• Preparation of Cured Tire Layout & Drawings.
• Resolving vendor queries during the mold and accessories order process.
• Product contribution improvement through design changes.
• To prepare & maintain the ISO-related documents required for Design Team.
• Preparation of Product Drawing for ECE certification.
• Molds and tools inspection and Maintaining the Inventory
• Attend all queries from S&M, OEM, Update Product Catalogue
• Calculating carcass & belt safety calculations and selection of materials in spec for new sizes and SKU modifications as PR & Design changes as per market & application requirements.
• Minimize iterations during Proto by studying & analyzing proto tire analysis & tire testing results for improvements and release of size

The ideal candidate will possess the following key drivers:

• BSc Engineering / BE with min 5 Years experience in Pneumatic tires
• Well Knowledge of AutoCAD & Solid works, Modeling, and Simulation
• Knowledge of Product Application
• Knowledge of Tire standards (ETRTO, JATMA, T&RA, ISO, etc..)
• Knowledge of Tire Process
• Knowledge of DFMEA
