Associate Software Engineer – Java / Hadoop

Here is an exciting opportunity if you are a driven Java-J2EE developer and want to take a deep dive into Big Data technologies. Arithmos (Pvt) Ltd is a BigData/Hadoop service provider in Colombo. Our client is one of the largest insurance companies on Wall Street with an extended offshore DevOps team based in Colombo. We are seeking an Associate Software Engineer to help us manage existing data extraction jobs and build new data pipelines from various structured and unstructured sources into Hadoop.

This is a unique opportunity to directly work with the in-house developers with exposure to cutting-edge technologies and a large US corporate culture. We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and talented with the ability to quickly learn new and unfamiliar technologies to become part of the Agile/Scrum team.

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or higher-level education.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in a large-scale multi-platform environment is desirable. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply for the Trainee Software Engineer position

Skills Required:

• Application development experience in Java/JEE
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills in English
• Analytical Skills
• Familiar with Linux/Unix Operating systems will be a definite advantage
