Manager – Banquet & MICE

The Blue Water Hotel & Spa, Wadduwa, a brand under Union Resorts Sri Lanka is looking for a vibrant and energetic individual who is willing to be the front face of a high-end beach resort in Sri Lanka.

Main responsibilities

• Achieve revenue targets set for the department with a creative and methodical approach. (Seles & Marketing skills in-line with current trends would be an advantage)
• Co-ordinate event requirements with other respective departments at the resort for smooth execution
• Responsible for all banquet functions and should have the ability to maintain the highest standards in relation to the quality, presentation, and service throughout each guest experience.
• Should have excellent event management skills as well as sound knowledge of local and continental cuisine and customs Mentor, coach, and train Banquet & MICE Sales, staff
• Promote all event-related services offered by the hotel to the respective clientele
• Oversee the execution of events to ensure high standards of food, beverage and services are maintained at all times
• Focusing on the MICE market while up-selling each business opportunity to maximize revenue

What Are We Looking For

• Professional qualification in Sales and Marketing / Business Management or similar from a recognized professional institution
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in Banquet and MICE businesses with a minimum of 2 years experience in a managerial capacity
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with exceptional grooming standards
• Excellent interpersonal and team management skills
• Strong supervisory and managerial skills
