Operations Manager
About The Role
We are looking for a strong, action-oriented operations manager to join the Sri Lanka Hub team of Uber Rides to help us turbocharge our regional growth bets and enhance the driver/rider platform experience.
The role will focus on managing projects pertaining to driver-partner relations in the region and also be responsible for supporting cross-functional teams in driving the performance and growth of key product portfolios in Sri Lanka.
This role calls for a combination of project and stakeholder management, strategic thinking, analytics, problem-solving, and strong operational execution. Further, as Uber is a fast-paced environment, we are looking for a highly adaptable candidate who is able to switch between long-term strategic initiatives one moment and pivot into rapid, tactical actions the next. Responsibilities:-
- Drive analysis on meaningful strategic decisions and advise business initiatives by understanding the key levers to improve the driver-partner experience, as well as fundamental economics.
- Take initiative and ownership of key business metrics impacting products in the city/hub. Devise executable roadmaps and take action on product rollouts, programs, processes, or pilots.
- Roll-out/grow our nascent but high-potential new product offerings like Moto and Connect
- Use data to build analytical frameworks and operational models to improve driver-partner experience. Conduct research and analysis based on both qualitative and quantitative data to study driver-partner behaviour, and then act on it to create impactful experiences for them.
- Plan and project manage multiple city projects and have the ability to execute in a constantly changing, complex environment. Identify operational weaknesses and help improve or innovate new processes.
- Experiment and measure the impact of the strategies that you execute in order to drive continuous improvement across the business.
- Liaise with local & global cross-functional teams that consist of other operations teams, product, sales, marketing, finance, etc. to ensure plans address broader strategic initiatives.
- Communicate to senior regional ops leaders/ GMs on projects/priorities; able to organize and lead effective meetings, collect and provide meaningful feedback & communicate priorities and goals effectively.
Qualifications:-
- 3-4+ years of experience in Operations / Consulting / Supply Chain / Strategy experience
- Bachelor degree in Business, Maths, Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Econometrics, or equivalent
Skills Required:-
- Consistent track record of being a respected operational problem solver
- Data-driven decision making mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking and experimentation
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and presenting data to various audiences; ability to translate quantitative findings into action plans
- Ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment
- Very strong communication and organization skills
- SQL / HTML knowledge a plus
- Language Proficiency – Sinhalese
